The first thing I think about when I play this game, is Symphony of the Night. This game, unlike the first two, has a very good system going for it, including items. The level designs and basically ALL of the monsters are exactly like SOTN. Of course, with notable differences. Castlevania 3 has a time limit, and no item equip screen. Which sucks, but oh well.
The jumping mechanism is kinda difficult, and you cannot fall from one floor to one below you, you simply die. Try to jump on a platform and miss? Death! The game in and of itself is pretty difficult. If you don't have the proper skills. you are going to die. There is barely a learning curb.
Imma try to finish this game before I make a full review. So look forward to it.

Blade Kitten: First Thoughts
I played the demo version of this, so idk how much holds true to the full game. But here goes:
The characters are pretty bland. You get the Neko girl who is looking for adventure. The thieving blond accented girl who is your rival, and then there is the odd-colored warlock looking girl who I assume is the antagonist. Then there are all the weak guards who are trained to atack and defend, but suck at it compared to a cat-girl with a floating sword.
The battle style can be a little more exciting. The enemies dying in one hit is really boring, at least in games like Jak and Daxter, the enemies take some skill to defeat. You need to skill at all to defeat these enemies. You don't even defeat them in a stylish format either, like you do in Dust an Elysian Tail.
The game is easy, you can climb and attach to walls like Spiderman, wall jump, double jump, infinity shield yourself, dash, and attack at long distance. So The games main protagonist is OP right from the start. It makes traveling through the levels a breeze. Just mash the X button a million times. You don't even need to know where you are going, you'll get there eventually.
About to die? No worries, you have infinite lives, and there is a checkpoint every two minutes, you know, because you obviously are too stupid to play the game correctly. I guess even the game thinks it's made for girls, and thus, has to be overly easy and idiotic. All you really have to do is walk, jump, and slice. You don't even have to stop.
That game in and of itself is pretty fun. Well... I had fun. It's not as fun as it's counterparts, Dust and Elysian Tail, or even Mark of the Ninja. But it wasn't half bad.
I'd recommend you try this game out for yourselves, which you can do, for free!

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, First Thoughts
W-wait, what's happening? Why am I in the final stage? How do I attack? Can I use magic? Boss battle? WTF!?!?! Explain game!
The fighting ability of this game is pretty cool. The dialog is... well... the fighting ability is pretty cool! You then start out again as some whitehaired guy who is super powerful. But why is he in the castle? Is he a good guy? He soon meets death, but instead of killing you, takes away all of your equipment??? Why did he do that? Explain please!
You keep traveling in the castle, how do you access the menu? What is Heart? Why are the monsters after you? How do I save? How do I work this thing? Do these collasping skeletons ever die? Care to elaborate? Am I just going to have to figure it all out myself through trial and error? EXPLAIN!
Oh fuck it! I guess I am just going to be left in the dark here.
The gameplay is fun, but if the only context you are going to have is going to be vauge, than why have any at all? I'll review this more later when I beat it, but aside from that, I am not too impressed.

Alundra, First Thoughts
This game is not bad for an early PS1 game. Not much of a storyline so far though. I was on this boat for no reason, getting chastized by all these sailors, and then I sleep, The boat capsizes, and I am the only survivor. GAME START! Wait, what? hat just happened? Who were those people? Were the pirates? sailors? Whay were they traveling? Why are you with them? What's up with your dreams? huh?
Good Samaritan Cliche. You get found in the shipwreck as the only survivor and is taken care of by a nice guy and all of the villagers who love you and completely trust you.
You run into a guy who is a scholar and he knows more about you then you know about yourself, and tells you about these powers you never knew you had. Apparently you can delve into other people's dreams and memories.
So the town in inflicted with issues involving sleep. And you must go into other peoples dreams to cure them of their ailments.
The fighting style isn't bad, and is basically the main reason why I bought this game. Hack and slash. The dialog isn't too bad either. But the game so far does seem to be missing a sense of direction. It also is missing a since of subtle clarification and explanation like the Ys games, so you don't entirely know what you are doing. Or where to go to do it. They give you more vauge directions. Which of course helps you to explore, but in this world, there really isn't much to explore. It's not as if the games are giving you chests filled with treasures or armor. Just herbs and some coins. Not a very good reason to want to explore.
But I'll review this game in full when I beat it, so look for ward to that

Dust an Elysian Tale, First Thoughts
Dust is pretty awesome game... it has FURRIES! :-D It is also pretty kick ass, has a good storyline, and an epic battle system.
You start off as a furry... something... that has lost it's memories, but is chosen by a magical sword to change the fate of the world. You're sidekick is another furry... animal... with wings, who was the original guardian of the sword, and follows you to get it back.
The storyline from there on is pretty epic, and includes many side quests and such. It is a very interesting game, full of mystery and excitement, and makes you want to play just to find out WTF happened!
I like the battle system a lot. I am a pretty big fan of games that have a hack and slash battle system. It gets the adrenalin pumping. Healing, and combo's are easy enough as well.
I have not yet found anything that I don't like about this game. I'll write more on it when I beat it
